Donate used books and media
D o you have books or CDs you no longer need or want? We work with non-profits in the CO area. We donate books to anyone who is in need, whether it’s shelters or children’s hospitals. This is a great option for those who are clearing out the contents of an estate, moving or have items that you no longer want.
The benefit to donating is that we will come to you and pick up the books for free as long as it is 6 boxes or more. If you have less than this, we may still be able to arrange a time to stop by when we are near your part of town.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
First, to be clear we are a for profit business. Many non-profits have a ton of overhead to which only a very small percentage of donations actually go to the needy. Overhead for the majority of these places can be as high as $0.80 to every $1, meaning just about 20 cents gets donated to those in need.
We do have an online book store but the truth is most books don’t fit our business model. We could choose to sell these books for a few dollars in a local store but have decided to give back to the community instead. As many as 80-85% of the books donated will not be sold by us. That is when we look for a new home for the books.
The convenience of at-your-door pick-ups is a very compelling reason why so many people choose Book Nook Recycling as their Book Donation center.
The books have to be in reasonable condition. Highlighting and other markings are not ideal but we can still take those books if the rest of it is intact. Examples of books we cannot take are books with loose spines, missing pages, mold or mildew and books that have water damage.
For the 80%-85% of books that do not fit our model, the book donations go directly to local non-profits who are able to use them. We currently donate to:
